One thing is for sure, this year’s holiday season will be different from any other in the past. But that doesn’t mean it has to be any less festive. I’ve come up with a few activities to do at home with your family so that no one gets bored during the vacation.

Unusual recipes

It’s time to cook things you don’t normally have time to prepare. Homemade hot chocolate and marshmallows? A gingerbread house? Or turn into a mixologist and make homemade syrups for cocktails or mocktails? If you’re interested, the ITHQ offers online workshops on wines and spirits, including one on cocktail making.

Cinéma maison

Choose a Christmas movie, make some popcorn and set up a candy bar. Sit in the comfort of your living room and dim the lights. You’ll feel like you’re at the movies, but with the added bonus of being able to wear your pajamas. Fun for kids and adults alike!

Walk to admire the Christmas lights

Christmas lights warm the heart. I suggest you make some hot chocolate, dress warmly and go for a walk around your neighborhood to admire the Christmas lights. You can even have a scavenger hunt with the kids, for example the first one to find a lighted snowman or five candy cane decorations.

Camping in front of the tree

Get out the air mattresses and sit with the whole family in front of the tree to sleep under the twinkling lights. Play board games or tell Christmas stories. And why not have a sleepover the next day and not plan anything for the day.

Christmas gift delivery

A few weeks ago, we shared with you some gourmet gift ideas. Why not take the opportunity to deliver them to your loved ones’ balconies? This year, we won’t be able to get together with all of our loved ones, but there’s nothing stopping you from spoiling them. So, make a Santa or Mrs. Claus out of yourself and bring some sweet treats to your loved ones’ doorsteps.

Outdoor activities

Why not just go outside and play? Skating, sliding, snowball fights or snowman carving, young and old alike are sure to enjoy themselves.
