After our long winter, spring is finally upon us! This makes us want to get outside and soak up some sunshine. Here are my best tricks for getting out and being active.
GO FOR A RUN IN THE PARK!
The snowbanks have melted and the paths are free and clear! Now is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors by going for a run or a long walk. Parks such as Maisonneuve and Lafontaine are great places to start running. The paths are paved and kept clean. To reduce muscle fatigue during your first runs of the season, I recommend adding BCAAs (amino acids) to your water. BCAA products are available at Rachelle Béry in a variety of flavours. Here’s a good way to start running:
- Start by walking briskly for 5-minutes
- Then alternate the following sequence six times:
- 2 minutes running at a regular pace
- 1 minute running at a fast race
- Finish off with another 5 minutes of walking
